Okay this next entry is a little embarrassing for me to admit this but I wanted to let people know that this is quite normal to have after surviving a stroke.
I usually wear a pad daily and nightly, since having the stroke l tend to leak a little urine. This is one of my ongoing problems. It is sometimes annoying but l can live with it.
I follow a routine at night. Whenever l get up, l will go to the washroom even if l don't feel like l need to. This has helped me alot.
I usually do not have much of a problem during the day.
I almost forgot to say that if you too have this problem, their is an exercise called kegels. Here is a helpful website;

Yesterday l was backing out of the drive way in my car, wouldn't you know l got stuck in the backlane due to the city deciding to plow the backlanes. leaving clumps of snow at the end of my drive way.  I have rheumatoid arthritis and pulmonary hypertension and so i pay a guy to shovel but he couldn't do it right away since he is working during the day.

I had no choice but try to get over those clumps. I had to pick up my pills and pick up my niece from school.

Thankfully 4 neighbours  came to my aide and helped get me unstuck. I was then able to go about my errands.

I really can not wait until the snow melts and the ice will go away too. I use my cane to prevent myself from slipping and falling.

Happy New Year to everyone !!!!

I'm so happy right now because for the past 10 months l have been saving my money to buy a replacement for my old battered laptop. The screen got cracked by accident and thankfully it still worked but it had red stuff all over the screen. which made typing a blog very difficult. Now it is so much easier.
One of the feature that l like about the laptop, the key board lights up, so now i can see the letters better.

This is now the time of year that l feel that it drags on and on. Where l live it is the middle of winter. There is at least another 4 months more of coldness and snow.
It is funny thou, when l was smaller l could not get enough of winter but now that l'm older i don't care for it.

On November 29th 2010 l would have been released from Riverview.
Wow it has been almost 3 years now.
Since being released l have had a full recovery and l feel stronger then before having a stroke.

Yesterday was the first time l drove by myself since getting my license back from August 10th.
It felt so good.

Today 3 years ago l arrived at riverview health center in the afternoon.I remember arriving to a room and before l could settle down a nurse came in.
She asked me if my situation felt surreal to me and l agreed with her. She basically discussed what l could expect  while l was there.

Looking back at my first day, it still feels like a dream. I'm always
thinking of my time l spent there. I do not take anything for granted.

On September 20th  l was traveling to my Grandma's farm and it is five hours away from where i live so that leaves me alot of time to think.
I came to realize that exactly 3 years ago  on this day, I woke up after suffering a stroke. And today i would be at the hospital and just starting my journey. Wow it has been along road of recovering but it has only made me stronger.
I do not have alot of problems after the stroke physically but l do have some mentally. The main thing is with short term memory. I'm constantly doing puzzles and alot of reading to help with remembering. I'm getting better at remembering.

Hello everyone,
On August 10, 2012. I had a road test at 3pm and I passed my test :)
I finally have my full driving license back. It is such a great feeling to be independent again.
